The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced the recruitment of medical university graduates and young doctors for an internship program designed to train new medical graduates from the United Arab Emirates and abroad. The year-long internship program, organized by the Department of Medical Education and Research at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), is conducted twice a year, in winter and summer. The program’s goal is to provide clinical training to doctors before they commence postgraduate education or work in the United Arab Emirates. After a two-day orientation course, interns will be placed in Dubai hospitals, including Rashid and Latifa hospitals, as well as primary healthcare centers, to begin their training.

The program offers free training for interns under the supervision of experienced physicians in various clinical departments. The clinical rotation plan includes:

  • Medical Faculty: 6 months (2 months of general medicine, 1 month of pediatrics, 1 month of psychiatry, 1 month of primary healthcare, and 1 month of electives).
  • Surgical Department: 6 months (2 months of general surgery, 2 months of obstetrics and gynecology, 1 month of emergency care, and 1 month of electives).

Required Documents:

  1. Medical degree issued no more than 2 years before the start of the internship, with consular legalization from the United Arab Emirates Embassy. For final-year students, an official “To whom it may concern” letter from the educational institution confirming the date of completion of studies, no more than 1 month before the start of the internship, an academic transcript of the last semester, and a promise letter to provide the diploma before the start of the internship.
  2. Diploma supplement.
  3. Copy of the international passport.
  4. CV (Resume).
  5. Resident card (Emirates ID) or a commitment letter from the applicant to provide an Emirates ID during the recruitment process. To obtain an Emirates ID, a visa with a validity period of at least 1 year (for the duration of the internship) is required. The visa should be open before the program’s start date.
  6. A deposit check of 5000 United Arab Emirates Dirhams (to be submitted after the candidate selection process); this amount will be refunded after the completion of at least a 6-month internship.

This internship program provides valuable practical experience for young doctors who aspire to work in the medical field. Upon completion of the internship, a doctor will gain the skills, experience, and confidence needed to successfully advance their medical career.
